This gorgeous insert is a very fine example of early Victorian design - the kind of statement piece that makes your fireplace the hero of the room. Sourced from Islington's [North London] Victorian terraces, it's brimming with authentic period character and charm, whether you want it working hard or just radiating vintage vibes.
Of real interest is the modification for gas - please see the close up in the photos [which is not tested] but means that this could be used to supply a living flame gas fire if required.
The insert is in good solid condition with some signs of age and wear, as expected with some pitting and casting marks and a modicum of rust on the back. Overall the patina and design are absolutely gorgeous.
